Warning: Key plot points for the third episode of Campaign 4 are included.

The Combat-Oriented Party Unveiled

Episode 3 finished on a huge suspense moment and revealed the premier party of adventurers who will split off from the primary party to undertake their separate journey, distinct from the additional parties.

This warrior group features Teor Pridesire (brought to life by Travis Willingham), the nimble rogue (Laura Bailey), the fierce warrior (Whitney), Wicander (Sam), and Kattigan (Robbie Daymond).

Why Split the Party?

Considering 13 cast members, it was obvious from the start that having everyone at a single group would be unfeasible.

Hence, the initial installments of this story serve as an Introduction, weaving together the personal journeys before dividing into three smaller tables: Warriors, Strategists, and Seekers.

What Defines the Combat Party

According to the DM, the combat-focused party is for players who enjoy a typically action-packed fight-heavy story mode where non-violent answers are scarce.

Upon first impression, figures such as the squeamish cleric Wicander might look out of place, but the events of the latest installment show why these specific adventurers are ideally matched for the warrior group.

Why They Must Go

First, the team knows exactly where to go next after a brutal initial meeting with the enemy group.

A former ally of Thjazi—whose death kicked off the story’s plot—manipulated The Crow Keepers for his personal gain, invading the hidden lair, striking Thimble, and swiping all the enchanted items to sell off.

The antagonist then settled his obligations and fled to a fortified location in the northern region, beyond Dol-Makjar, with Teor’s brother close behind.

Personal Motivations

Moreover, each character has a specific drive to exit the metropolitan area:

  • The agile hero, as the companion and closest confidant, seeks retribution.
  • The adventurer is familiar with the region and cautions that it is a dangerous place.
  • Tyranny and The healer, having resisted his relatives’ demands to eliminate the fighter and instead rescued him, have no other options.
  • However, their status as key figures in House Halovar could assist the team reach locations they normally couldn’t.
  • Additionally, Teor pledged a life debt to Wicander for his rescue and will now follow him wherever.

Fugitives

Finally, all of them are wanted by the authorities that rule Dol-Makjar for a multiple motives, making lingering locally no longer safe:

  • Thimble and The character are recognized lawbreakers.
  • The warrior and Wicander betrayed the influential house and the army of fiends they are allied with.
  • The target is targeted for elimination by House Halovar.

This means them little choice but to travel to Timmony in pursuit of the antagonist.

What’s Next?

Based on the latest episode’s Cooldown, we find out that the combat party will be absent in the upcoming installment, leaving the rest of the players to round up the Explorers and Planners groups.

Audiences can anticipate discovering which characters will be in which group in the season’s final introductory chapter, available to watch on October 24.
